The King’s Theatre Pantomime has come to Edinburgh, and If you are in any doubt that Christmas is coming soon, then Goldilocks and the Three Bears will make the message very clear yet again.  As the pantomime is every year, this show was a great entertaining success.

Allan Stewart, Andy Gray and Grant Stott are back with a spectacular mash up of circus, pantomime and variety show, this year featuring River City's Jordan Young and of course Gillian Parkhouse as Goldilocks.

The show features some of the most colourful outfits to date and I lost count of how many costume changes Allan had. The set design was magnificent and utilised the King’s stage to great effect with various backdrops and well designed sets.  The Greatest Show On Earth features The Great Juggling Alfio, a fourth generation circus performer originally from Valencia, and The Berserk Riders, an astonishing sight to behold that thrills and excites .

The whole ensemble put on a most excellent performance.

My 6 year old daughter thought the farting of jingle bells was the most hilarious thing she had ever seen and my 10 year old’s favourite part was the lip sync bit. I enjoyed the whole thing but felt quite emotional as Andy Gray stepped on stage for the first time and seeing him perform once again was wonderful.

5 stars and a great night of entertainment for all ages.
