Get yourself along to C Venues in Chambers Street for an awfully exciting adventure with Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog (better known collectively as Enid Blyton’s Famous Five).  Join them as they all meet up for the first time at Kirrin Cottage, sail through a storm to Kirrin Island, and explore mysterious tunnels and dungeons.

This show is great fun for children (and adults) of all ages, and at just over an hour it’s the right length to keep children’s attention without them getting bored or distracted.  With cleverly created appearances from Uncle Quentin, Aunt Fanny, and two baddies, the cast of four put an amazing amount of energy and imagination into this production.  It’s very much an audience participation show, with children and some adults being called on to assist and to provide special effects, so don’t sit in the front row if you’re shy!

The show does have some important messages for children in it, including the importance of friends and that girls aren’t inferior to boys, but overall it’s just a fun experience.

And yes, there was a picnic with lashings of ginger beer – it simply wouldn’t be a Famous Five adventure without it.
